Kathy Williams

Kathy Williams, 67, of Happy, Texas and Stonewall, Colorado, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon, Texas with Rev. Gene Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Brooks Chapel.

Kathy was born on October 30, 1955 in Canyon to Dalton and Gladys (Thompson) Pettit. She married Kirk Williams over 35 years ago and received her BS in Criminal Justice from West Texas State University in 1992. She retired from the State of Texas as a parole officer.

Kathy was an avid lover of animals and was a hard worker. She loved the mountains dearly and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. It was always very important to her to keep in contact with her family and friends, and she was very particular about finding the perfect cards to send.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Nelda and Golden Currie, Wanda Gail Green, and Karen and Jack Johnson, and a nephew, Craig Green.

Survivors include her husband, Kirk Williams of Happy, TX; her daughter, Michelle Prescott of Happy; two grandsons, Braden Hinders of Canyon and Matthew Prescott of Happy; sister-in-law, Suzanne La Bry and husband, Alex and their daughter, Claire La Bry all of Austin; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family; and her work family that was very dear to her.

The family suggests memorials be to an animal rescue of your choice.
