Kathryn Hefner

Kathryn Hefner, 58, of Canyon, died Friday, November 30, 2001. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 4, 2001 at the First United Methodist Church with Donna Johnston, Associate Pastor, officiating. Kathryn Hefner was born on April 20, 1943 at Amarillo to Joe and Minnie Lou Merrell Winstead. She graduated from Canyon High School. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and graduated from West Texas State University in 1964. She married Don Hefner on September 11, 1964. She belonged to the First United Methodist Church of Canyon. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe M. Winstead, in 1969. Survivors include her husband, Don, of Canyon; one son, Casey, and wife, Rae Hefner, of Canyon; one daughter, Amber, and husband, Jason O'Gorman, of Canyon; her mother, Minnie Lou Winstead, of Canyon; three grandchildren, Trey, Tristen, and Shelbie; two brothers, Merrell Winstead, of Canyon, and Joe Marlin Winstead, of Morton Gap, Kentucky; one sister, Brenda Winstead, of Livingston, Montana; and seven nieces and nephews.
