Kathryn Dodson

Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Dreamland Cemetery with Dale Bigham, Arden Road Baptist Church, officiating. Kathryn Joyce Dodson was born on January 11, 1932 in Cowden, Illinois to Estel and Osee Toothman. She married Nick Dodson in San Diego in 1955 and then they moved to Canyon where she has resided since then. She was the baker for Canyon Independent School District for 18 years. She also worked at Walmart in Canyon for a number of years. Kathryn was a member of Arden Road Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick, in 2006 and her son, Hank, in 1987. Survivors include her sons, Cody Dodson, of Austin, Texas, and Mike Dodson, and wife, Kim, of Amarillo, Texas; her grandsons, Michael Dodson and wife, Jennifer, and their children, Mike, Harley, and Zoey, of Amarillo, and Nicholas Dodson, and his daughter, Mykenna, of Austin, Texas; a granddaughter, Kathryn Criner, and husband, Kyle, and their son, Kanyon, of Georgetown, Texas; two nephews, Greg Risner of Santa Fe, Texas, and James Risner of Lawrence, Kansas; and a niece, Cheri Leonard of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be to the patients of Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice in care of Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Foundation, 1600 Wallace Blvd. Amarillo, Texas, 79016.
