Kathleen Burtis

Kathleen Mary Davies Burtis, 89, of Canyon, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024. Services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church with David Crump, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Dreamland Cemetery.

Kathy was born on December 29, 1934 in Bristol, U.K. to Arthur Stanley and Kathleen (Williams) Davies. She worked as a teller at Lloyds Bank in Bristol for 29 years before moving to Canyon in 1981. She married Calvin Burtis on January 10, 1982 at Calvary Baptist Church in Canyon, and he preceded her in death.

While in Bristol, Kathy was a member of the Church of England. When she moved to Canyon, she became a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she had a heart for serving with the Canyon Korean Church and was a dedicated member of the Coffee Break Bible Study. She had a generous heart and donated to support multiple foundations. Kathleen was an avid letter writer and sent cards and letters for all occasions to friends all over the world.

Kathy is also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Stanley and Percy Davies, and a sister, Peggy Sharpe.

Survivors include two nephews, Richard Sharpe of Scotland, U.K. and David Sharpe of Bristol, U.K.; and a niece, Christine Bell of London, U.K.
