Services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 28 at First United Methodist Church of Canyon with Rev. Donna Johnston, officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 27 at Brooks Chapel from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Sue was born August 25, 1941 in Plainview to Andy and Ione Flowers Crossland. She graduated with the first graduating class of Tascosa High School in 1958. She attended Amarillo College. Sue married Alvin A. ""Tommy"" Thomas, Jr. on January 24, 1969 at Polk Street United Methodist Church. Mrs. Thomas worked with many children through the Mother?s Day Out programs at Polk Street and Saint Stephen United Methodist Churches. She was a member of the Hallmark Club and also enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas are former members of Canyon Country Club. Mrs. Thomas was a member of First United Methodist Church of Canyon where she was a member of the Pathfinders class. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Ione Crossland. Sue is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Tommy, and five children, Kimberley Rutherford and husband, Keith, Brian Thomas and wife, Charlotte, Kelly Vogler and husband, Mark, Tommie Sue Camarillo and husband, Michael, all of Amarillo, and Corey Thomas and wife, Kendra, of Aubrey; grandchildren include, Dr. Tara Rutherford-Lawless, of Round Rock, Jason David Joos, of Decatur, Haley Rutherford-Smith, of Lubbock, Kaitlin Rutherford, Madison Thomas, McKenna Thomas, Catherine Vogler, Hayden Vogler Jacob Whittington, Caleb Whittington, Mason Camarillo, all of Amarillo, Bay Lyn Thomas, Bree Ann Thomas, of Aubrey; great-grandchildren include, Colton and Addison Lawless, of Round Rock, Braelyn Joos, of Decatur, and Archer Smith, of Lubbock. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First United Methodist Church of Canyon, 1818 4th Avenue, Canyon, TX 79015; Amarillo Area Parkinson?s Support Group, PO Box 19721, Amarillo, TX 79114; or to Hospice Care of the Southwest, 1301 S. Coulter Ste. 404, Amarillo, TX 79106.
