Services will be 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 26, 2010 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Terry Meyer officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 25 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. The family will be located at 3610 S. Ong in Amarillo. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Karen Richie McAlpine died on April 22, 2010 in Amarillo. She was born on August 13, 1959 in Amarillo to Dick and Jean Fincher Richie. She was a 1977 graduate of Canyon High School and was employed by Corporate Systems for many years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Canyon. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Dick Richie, her grandmother, Mary Richie, and two uncles, Ray and Joy Richie. Survivors include her two daughters, Morgan Bunn and husband, Michael,of Amarillo, Alyssia Boen, of Amarillo; a son, Brandon McAlpine, of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Matthew Bunn and Natalia Boen; mother, Jean Richie, of Canyon; brother, Tom Richie and wife, Joan, of Amarillo; and two sisters, Melinda Blea and husband, Martin, of Canyon, and Teresa Wilde and husband, Kevin, of Canyon. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice, PO Box 950, Amarillo, Texas 79176.
