Julia was born on March 8, 1933 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Reuben and Pearl (Rumbach) Busch. She graduated from Rockdale High School in 1950 and then attended Apostolic Faith Bible College. She continued her education attending classes at various colleges. Education was very important to her, and she insisted that all four of her girls get a college degree.
She married Floyd Pletcher on August 19, 1952 in Rockdale, Texas and they moved to Canyon in 1962. They then moved to Battle Mountain, Nevada in 1965 and lived there until retirement when they returned to Texas.
Julia was talented in many ways. She and her sister sang gospel music on the radio in their younger years. She was also a wonderful homemaker and never had idle time as she loved photography, writing, painting, gardening, directing some theater, teaching piano lessons, and even driving the school bus. She was very creative and artistic and a talented seamstress, sewing her daughters' clothes for years and making quilts for all her grandchildren. While in Nevada, she taught some photography classes at the community college in Elko, Nevada and worked for the extension office as well.
Julia was a faithful member of Faith Community Church where she was very active with the music and Vacation Bible School.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice and Conner Court for the love and care they provided and to her neighbor, Becky Rose, as well as her other neighbors who were so good to her.
Julia is preceded in death by her husband of almost 71 years, Floyd Pletcher, and her most beloved sister, Ruth Edna 'Sissie' Bachler.
