Judy Evans

December 31, 1969 — November 26, 2008

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 1 at the Summit in Canyon with Gordon Cox and Dr. Byron Garrison, officiating. Interment will be at Dreamland Cemetery. Judy was born April 6, 1949 in Quanah, Texas to Jesse and Maxine Baker. She was raised in Childress and in 1967 she graduated from Childress High School. After graduating she moved to Canyon and attended WTSU. Judy married Bobby Evans on February 20, 1991. Judy was employed by White and Kirk Department Stores, Becknell and Associates Insurance Agency, Canyon Chamber of Commerce, and she spent her last 14 years as the Administrative Assistant to County Judge Ted Wood and current Judge Ernie Houdashell. She was awarded Woman of the Year twice. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, which is now the Summit. Judy was very involved and dedicated to serving her church and community. She served on the Canyon Main Street Committee, and also served a term as City Commissioner. She loved to watch and support her children and grandchildren in athletic events, and was most proud of being "Granny" to her six grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Bobby Evans, of the home; mother-in-law, June Morain, of New Braunfels; father-in-law, Glen Evans and wife, Linda, of Amarillo; children, Angie Sides and husband, Brandon, of Canyon, Lynna Pyle, of Amarillo, Aaron Evans and wife, Amber, of Corinth; siblings, Linda Rochford and husband, Rocky, of Rio Rancho, NM, David Baker and wife, Carol, of Lubbock, John Baker, of Amarillo, Nancy Price and husband, Larry Don, of Seminole, Dannye Schick and husband, David, of Amarillo;grandchildren, Rhailee and Braxton Sides, of Canyon, Gracie, Makenzie, and Addysan Early, of Amarillo, Aidan Evans, of Corinth; and ten nieces and nephews.
