Joyce Simpson

Joyce Simpson, 45, of Canyon, died Sunday, August 4, 2002. Services will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Phil Bickerstaff, of Victory Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Joyce was born on January 18, 1957 in East Chicago, Indiana to Carlton and Thelmamae Garner. She graduated from Bel Air High School in El Paso, Texas. She married Jack Simpson in El Paso on June 18, 1982. Due to her husband?s various Army assignments, they lived in Europe, Washington and Kentucky; then moved to Canyon in 1997. She was a member of Disciples of Christ Church in El Paso. She was preceded in death by her father, Carlton Garner, in 1995. Survivors include her husband, Jack, of the home; one daughter, Laurie Simpson, of Arlington, TX; her mother, Thelmamae Garner, of El Paso, one brother, Ronald Garner, of Amarillo; and two sisters, Carol Murphy, of Del Rio, TX, and Karla Carrier, of New Hampshire.
