Joseph Kratochvil

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2012, at St. Mary"s Cathedral. Monsignor Harold Waldow of St. Mary"s Cathedral officiating. Buril will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Kratochvil was born in Jeanette, Pennsylvania, the youngest of five brothers whose nickname for him was boss. He married Wilma Mae Zvara on April 12, 1958. He loved sports and sang in the choir in high school. Mr. Kratochvil served in the U.S. Navy. He was an electronic technician at Bell Helicopter for 21 years. He lived in Amarillo since 1964. Survivors include his wife, Wilma Kratochvil, his children, Robert Brendan Kratochvil, Christine Jo Beavers and husband, Keith Beavers, Timothy Scott and wife, Twyla, Joseph Alan Kratochvil and wife Shannon, Patrick Neal Kratochvil and wife, Virginia, Kathleen Lee Grooms, Diane Kratochvil, daughter-in-law. John Kratochvil, brother, and wife, Norma, George Kratochvil, brother, and wife, Alice, and Birtie Kratochvil, sister in law. 26 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He also unofficially adopted sons, Mike Reed and Bill Kratochvil. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas and Virginia Anne and son John Thomas, Bill Kratochvil, brother and wife, Mary, and Carl Kratochvil (Botz) brother. The family would like to express their gratitude to AA members and BSA Hospice. They request memorials to Right to Life or BSA Hospice.
