Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, September 3, 2010 at Dreamland Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 3, at the First United Methodist Church. John F. Robinson was born on December 18, 1921 in Seymour, Texas to Pat and Hattie Finn Robinson. He graduated from Seymour High School in 1939. He received the Purple Heart Award while serving in the U.S. Army during WWII, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He married Lucille Knox in Canyon on November 18, 1961. He farmed and ranched in the Happy area for many years and received the Outstanding Farmer award. He also worked at Panhandle Plains Historical Museum for twelve years. Johnny enjoyed coaching Little League football and baseball. He continued coaching throughout the years and will be remembered for coaching men's softball. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #730, receiving his 50 year pin, and the First United Methodist Church where he was a long time member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Holman Clark. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lucille Robinson, of the home; two sons, Scott Robinson and wife, Vickie, of Canyon, and Vance Robinson and wife, Dawn, of Amarillo; one brother, Gene Robinson and wife, Martha, of Seymour; five grandchildren, Shandy Robinson, Trent Robinson, Tully Robinson, McKayla Robinson, and Zach Robinson; and two great grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, PO Box 1890, Amarillo, Texas 79174.
