John Everitt

Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Dr. Jim W. Smith, Senior Pastor Emeritus, Saint Stephen Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon. John R. Everitt was born on April 18, 1924 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to James and Nellie Clark Everitt. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the 82nd Airborne during WWII. He married Bettie Moore on November 26, 1976 in Amarillo and was a member of St. Stephen Methodist Church. He retired from Equifax after 26 years. John was an avid reader and loved fishing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Eli Moore and Brian Everitt, and a brother, Laverne Everitt. Survivors include his wife, Bettie Everitt; three sons, Stephen Everitt, David Everitt and wife, Luann, and Mark Everitt and wife, Teresa; two stepsons, Doug Moore and wife, Debbie, and Max Moore and wife, Vicki; a stepdaughter, Melony Swasey; twelve grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. The family suggests memorial be to a charity of your choice.
