Joe Dickerson

Services will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church of Canyon with Rev. Clark Williams, pastor, Rev. Donna Johnston associate pastor, and Rev. Rusty Dickerson pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Joe Dickerson was born December 13, 1936 to William and Nell Thompson Dickerson. He graduated from Canyon High School in 1955. He married Pam Sperline in 1974 in California. He worked at ASARCO for 16 years. Joe was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Canyon and the Canyon Noon Kiwanis. He loved children, bowling and basketball. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Nell Dickerson and a sister Sue Rogers. Survivors include his wife, Pam, of the home; two sons, Gary Dickerson and wife Jennifer, of Houston, TX, and David Dickerson and wife Lisa, of San Antonio, TX; one stepson, John Sperline, of Palmyra, MO; two brothers, Merle Dickerson and wife Ginny, of Lubbock, TX, and Leroy Dickerson, of Idaho Falls, ID; two sisters, Jean Walker and Fay Bosley, both of Canyon, TX; one aunt, Kate McKenney, of Tulsa, OK; six grandchildren, Amanda Dickerson, Mickey Dickerson, Nathan Dickerson, Heather Sperline, Jacob Sperline and Thomas Reed; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to the First United Methodist Church Children"s Ministries 1818 4th Ave. Canyon, TX 79015.
