Jody Burnett

Jody Jim Burnett, 41, of Canyon found peace in Jesus on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 7 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Living Water Christian Fellowship, 10100 US Hwy 60, Canyon TX 79015. Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 8 at Living Water Christian Fellowship with Shane Nease, pastor, officiating. Private interment will be at Dreamland Cemetery. Jody was born on January 7, 1976 in Friona to Joseph Burnett and Cindy Evans Burnett. He was a 1994 graduate of Canyon High School. On May 2, 1998, he married Micah Conner in Canyon. Jody was the owner and operator of Burnett Industries. He was a member of Living Water Christian Fellowship. He was an avid hunter. He loved cooking with his family and listening to old country music. He also loved spending time with his kids on the ranch. He was preceded in death by his lifelong friend, Russell Barnett. Survivors include his wife, Micah; daughter, Brianna Ashley Burnett; son, Clayton Conner Burnett; father, Joe Burnett; mother, Cindy Burnett; sister, Tara Williams and husband John; parents-in-law, Lon and Beverly Conner; two brothers-in-law, Josh Conner and wife Michelle, Wade Conner and wife Ashley; numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog and faithful companion, Pepper. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Burnett Love Fund c/o Happy State Bank, 1908 4th Ave., Canyon, TX 79015.
