Jimmy Scarborough

Jimmy Dale Scarborough, 65, of Canyon passed away February 15, 2018. Services will be at 10 A.M. Tuesday, February 20 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor John Elser officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Brooks Chapel. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors.  Jimmy was born August 1, 1952 in Dumas, TX to Vernon Leo and Edna Lilly Scarborough. He married Cynthia Kopke on June 14, 1974 at Faith Lutheran Church in Spearman, TX.  He was a security guard at Pantex. He was a cabinet maker and avid reader.  He loved history, especially Texas history. Always creative, he was a graphic artist and enjoyed making sketches, paintings and sculptures.  He was a talented musician who easily played by ear.  He enjoyed classic cars and muscle cars; anything fast and loud. He was a master marksman and gun enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his mother and wife; son Erik Scarborough and grandsons Deegan and Iain; daughter Sheena and husband Jeremiah.
