Jewel Crawford

Jewel Mae Crawford, 101, of Canyon, died Monday, June 9, 2003 in Canyon. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at Brooks Chapel with Brent Adams, Elder of Southwest Church of Christ of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Mrs. Crawford was born on February 9, 1902 at Palestine, Texas to John Henry and Bertie McAuthur Williams. She married Walter Roe Crawford at Palestine in 1921. He preceded her in death in 1973. She was a homemaker and seamstress and a member of the Canyon Mothers-in-Law Club. She was also a member of the University Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Melvin P. Crawford, of Amarillo, and Wayne R. Crawford, of Dumas; two daughters, Loreta B. Crawford, of Mineral Wells, and LaVeta F. Campfield, of Canyon; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren.
