Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Polk Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Deckard, associate pastor, officiating. Jerry Arthur Wright was born on February 4, 1948 in Pampa to J.D. and Mary Ruth Crouch Wright. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1966 and from West Texas State University in 1973 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He married Alice Jean Skaggs on January 24, 1970. He worked for Levi Strauss from 1970 to 1974, and then worked for Farm Bureau Insurance Company from June, 1974 to July, 2011. He was the Agency Manager for Randall County Farm Bureau for 37 years, retiring in 2011. Jerry was a lifetime member of the Amarillo Gun Club and the Canyon Masonic Lodge, where he was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was also president of Randall County Jr. Livestock Buyers Club. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, J. D. Wright, Jr. in 1978. Survivors include his wife, Alice Jean Wright; two sons, Matt Wright and Michelle Hill, of Amarillo, and Jay Wright and wife, Amy, of Dallas; four grandchildren, Isaac, Josiah, Olivia, and Hadassah Wright, of Dallas; his mother, Mary Ruth Crouch Wright, of Goodrich; three sisters, Mary Ann Shockey and husband, Linville, of Cordell, OK, Shirley Greene and husband, Lem, of White Deer, and Linda Gail O'Neal and husband, Harry, of Goodrich; and one brother, James Dee Wright and wife, Wilda, of Dimmitt. The family suggests memorials be to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 South 4th Street, Canadian, Texas 79014 or the Amarillo Gun Club, 4521 S. Osage, Amarillo, Texas 79118.
