Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 2 at St. James Episcopal Church in Dalhart. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Dalhart. Jeremy Kortney "Kort" Koehler was born May 4, 1977 in Amarillo to Mike and Sharon Koehler. He attended St. Anthony's Catholic School and then graduated from Dalhart High School in 1995. He was a student at West Texas A&M University for 3 years. Kort enjoyed painting, watching football, hunting, and spending time with friends and family. Kort became interested in art when he was a child. In 2001, he began doing mouth and foot art. He enjoyed painting landscapes, sunsets, wildlife, portraits, and many other subjects for the Art Institute of Sweden. Kort was upbeat and an inspiration to everyone around him. Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Kelcey Koehler and Justin Koehler; a nephew, Chisum Koehler; a niece, Cross Koehler; his beloved dogs, Sampson and Drake; and numerous extended family members. The family suggests memorials to the Dr. Wise Young Spinal Cord Injury Project at Rutger's University, 604 Allison Road, D-251, Piscataway, New Jersey, 08854.
