Jeannita Higginbotham, 77, of Canyon passed away on June 23, 2026. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Canyon First Assembly of God. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Brooks Chapel.
Jeannita was born on February 19, 1949, in Harper, Kansas, to C.N. and Jean Tippery. She married Robert Higginbotham on February 22, 1969, at the First Assembly of God in Canyon, Texas. Jeannita lived a life marked by devotion to her work, family, and church. Throughout her life, Jeannita dedicated herself to serving others. She worked as a nurse’s aid at various locations in Canyon, touching many lives through her kindness and loving personality. She also worked as a manager at Braum’s and as an Avon representative. In every role she held, Jeannita was regarded for her steadfast commitment and positive spirit, always striving to provide her very best.
Jeannita was known for her avid collection of teddy bears, a hobby that reflected her gentle and nurturing nature. Active and energetic, she was described as someone who never sat still, always finding ways to stay busy and contribute meaningfully to those around her. She was a lifelong member of the Canyon First Assembly of God, faithfully participating and supporting her church community throughout the years.
Those closest to Jeannita remember her as a loving and remarkably strong woman, whose resilience and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
Jeannita was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Jo Elyn Richardson and Sally Mosier.
Jeannita is survived by her husband, Rob; her son, Kevin Higginbotham; her daughter, Kim Copeland and husband, Chris; and her granddaughters, Liberty "Libbie" Copeland and Justiss "J'leigh" Copeland. Each of them carry forward her legacy of love and strength.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Skywest Assisted Living.
