Jeanne Hicks

Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 7 , 2011 at Brooks Chapel with Craig Albracht, associate pastor of Amarillo South Church, officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Brooks Chapel. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Jeanne Hicks was born on September 2, 1940 in Okmulgee, OK to Orville and Velma Matney McDonald. She spent most of her life in Canyon being a friend to all as a checker at local grocery stores. Her true passion was her family and spending time and doing as much as she could for all of them. Jeanne had a smile that out shown the sun and a sense of humor that always brought a laugh. In her down time, she enjoyed whiling away on the computer, reading, sewing, camping, fishing and of course, the slot machine. While she will be missed tremendously by family and friends, it brings immense peace and comfort knowing she is in her eternal home embraced with the love of our Heavenly father. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Larry Hicks; two sons, Wes Hicks and wife, Judy, and Les Hicks and wife, Jana; three grandchildren, Shelby, Logan, and Teagan; and her brother, Ray McDonald and wife, Carla.
