Jean Richie

Services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Brooks Chapel with Brian Hesse, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Amarillo, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Brooks Chapel. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Jean Richie was born on January 8, 1932 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to Jody and Minnie Bailey Fincher. She graduated from Meadow Brook High School. She was the youngest of seven children and an exceptional homemaker. She enjoyed ceramics, gardening, and loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Jean was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen McAlpine, four brothers, two sisters, and James Richie. Survivors include a son, Tom Richie and wife, Joan, of Amarillo; two daughters, Melinda Blea and husband, Martin, of Canyon and Teresa Wilde and husband, Kevin, of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
