Jay Shaw

Jay L. Shaw, 68, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, February 4, 2003 in Amarillo. Memorial Services will be at 4:00 PM on Thursday, February 6, 2003 at Paramount Terrace Christian Church in Amarillo with Rev. Ron Kohler, officiating. Jay was born on May 14, 1934 at Portales, NM to Jesse and Frances Paul Shaw. He graduated from Hereford High School and received his Masters in Education from West Texas State University. He worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs for twenty years. He also taught school in Amarillo and Tulia for approximately twenty years. He married Maryln Christian in Canyon in 1960. She preceded him in death in 1984. He was a member of the Paramount Terrace Christian Church of Amarillo. Survivors include one daughter, Wynella Shaw Owens, of Amarillo, and one son, Robert Jay Shaw, of Dallas. The family suggests memorials be to the American Heart Association 6605 I H 40 West Amarillo, Tx. 79106.
