Janie Nemic

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon. Janie Nemic was born on April 8, 1922 in Ellis County to Theodore and Josephine Knize Dlabaj. She married Albert Nemic on December 28, 1969, and he preceded her in death in 1988. She worked as an account analyst in Dallas for many years. Janie was a Catholic and enjoyed painting birds and flowers. She also loved to dance. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and three sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Barrington and husband, James, of Canyon; two granddaughters, Karlee Wells and husband, Keith, of Kennebunk, Maine, and Cari Thompson and husband, Rob, of Canyon; six great-grandchildren, Haley, Hunter, and Haydn Wells, of Kennebunk, Maine, and Robby, Aryauna, and Kaelynn Thompson, of Canyon; and a longtime friend, Bill Mays, of Dallas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to the High Plains Children's Home, PO Box 7448, Amarillo, Texas 79114.
