James Lutes

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 20 at the First Baptist Church of Canyon with Steve Olsen, pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, May 19 at Brooks Chapel. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. Jim was born December 7, 1935 in Dalhart, Texas to Calvin and Buryl Lutes. Jim graduated from Clayton High School. He graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canyon. He married Sue Sanders on April 14, 1990 in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his parents and his step son, Perry Sanders. Survivors include his wife, Sue; son, Steve Lutes, of Clayton, NM; daughter, Kay Fincher, of Canyon; grandson, Brady Fincher, of Canyon; brother, Billy Lutes and wife, Mary, of Sedan, NM; three step sons, Mike Sanders and wife, Pam, of Lewisville, Kyle Sanders and wife, Rhonda of Jacksonville, FL, Craig Sanders and wife, Monica, of Amarillo; nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and many friends. He will be missed by all. The family would like to thank Hospice Care of the Southwest for the wonderful care.
