James Lester

James M. Lester, 76, of Canyon passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019, Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. David Crump, officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler. James was born on August 14, 1942 in Wheeler to Edgar and Vera Tucker Lester. He graduated from Mobeetie High School. He did a lot of masonry work in the Amarillo area and retired from WTA&MU, where he worked as an equipment operator. He loved the outdoors especially fishing. He was survived by his daughter, Carol Miller; son, James Allen Lester and wife Shelia; all of Mobeetie; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to BSA Hospice of the Southwest, 5211 SW 9th Ave., Ste. 100, Amarillo, TX 79106.
