James Laroe

Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at the Church of Christ in Happy with Rick Bloodworth, minister, officiating. Private interment at Happy Cemetery. James Shirley LaRoe was born July 8, 1923 to Homer T. and Ethel Duff LaRoe in Happy, Texas. On August 25, 1950, he married Bertie Ruth Usrey in Amarillo. She preceded him in death in 2007. He received his Bachelor"s Degree from Texas Tech University and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Shirley was a farmer, insurance agent, and a crop hail insurance adjuster. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Bill LaRoe. The family wishes to thank the care partners of Childers Place for their loving care. Survivors incluede two daughters, Cathey Jo Harman and husband, Levon, of Happy, Jini Morris and husband, Steven, of Oklahoma City, OK; two granddaughters, Amanda Jo Harman, of Lubbock, Kate Harman, of Lubbock; a sister, Jean Conger, of Coolidge, AZ; a sister-in-law, Betty LaRoe, of Amarillo; and several nieces and nephews.
