James Anderson

James Ervin Anderson, 85 went to be with the Lord on June 5, 2022 in the arms of his loving wife of almost 65 years.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Gene Jones, officiating. Burial will follow at Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday prior to the funeral services.

He was born in Tulia, TX on February 23, 1937 to Vergie and Frank Anderson. He married his one and only true love, Glenna Stroup, on June 15, 1957 who always loved his fun sense of humor and wonderful smile and together they had 5 children making their home in Canyon, TX.

To say James loved farming at Vigo Park, TX would be an understatement! He also simply loved working hard at everything he did to include his 43-year career at Affiliated Foods in Amarillo, TX retiring as Director of Purchasing in 2000. He lived by his moto to "Keep on keeping on". James also took great care of his family and loved the Lord.

James was preceded in death by his son, Frank Todd Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Glenna Anderson; two sons, Kent Anderson of Canyon and Cody Anderson (Mary) of Canyon; two daughters, Batina Osborne (Charles) of Crystal Beach, TX and Julie Thackston of Canyon; 7 grandchildren, Chasity Burger (Bill), Chance Carlile, Hunter Anderson, Savanna Beanland (Kyle), Amanda Anderson, Zachary Foster and Emma Blouin; 4 great grandchildren, Mathew and Caleigh Burger, Tatiana and Zednanreh Anderson; a sister Sue Langston; and uncle, Verlin Beasley.

A special thank you goes to Chasity Burger for all the daily trips she loved making with him to feed the ducks at Southeast Park and picking up his favorite vanilla ice cream cone from Braum's.

James was a true Texan who deeply loved his country and will be missed by many.
