Private Family Services will be in Happy Cemetery, Happy, Texas. Jacob V. Huber was born in Amarillo. After the family moved to a farm in Swisher County, he graduated from high school in Tulia in 1940. He married Frances M. White of Happy in 1943 at Fort Worth. After serving 40 months in the U.S. Air Force during WWII, Mr. Huber enrolled at West Texas State College in Canyon receiving BBA and MBA degrees in accounting and business. While in school at West Texas State College, Jacob qualified for and received a permit to fly light aircraft. He was a long time resident of Amarillo and was employed by Energas and Predecessor Companies for 35 years, retiring as a Vice President of Energas. He was a member of Amarillo Estate Planning Council, Southern Pension Conference, golf and antique groups, and Tascosa Country Club. His hobbies included golfing, hunting, fishing, and collecting artifacts. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Huber; step-father, Mike Huber; three sisters, Mary Huber Irlbeck, Marie Lumpkins, and Mildred Whitaker; and a brother, George E. Huber. Survivors include his wife, Frances White Huber, of Amarillo; son, Dwight W. Huber, of Amarillo; grandson, Jason V. Huber, of Lewisville; granddaughter, Margaret June Huber, of Austin; and friend, Jo Betsy Smith, of Dallas. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Happy Cemetery Association, P.O.
