Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 11, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Happy with Rev. Paul Burwash, pastor, and Rev. Kyle Brock, First United Methodist Church of Plainview, officiating. Interment at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon. Jack Collier was born April 15, 1936 in Amherst, Texas to Vernon and Ella Wilbanks Collier. Jack was a graduate of Happy High School. He married Sue Reynolds on February 1, 1958 in Canyon. Jack was a retired employee of Pan-Tex, where he worked for 40 years. He was a member of Happy Senior Citizens and the First Baptist Church of Happy, where he served as a Deacon. He was well known for his "Happy Jack Candy."He loved to participate in The Walk To Emmaus. He also loved camping and fishing with his family, and serving others. Survivors include his wife, Sue Collier, of the home; five daughters, Janice Sue Cooper and husband, Sam, of Canyon Lake, TX, Carla Jean McElroy and husband, Bryan, of Canyon, Marla June Johnson and husband, Clyde, of Tulia, Edwina Jane Casad and husband, Meil, of Sanford, FL, Lotte Janell Talley and husband, Bill, of Happy; a sister, Jane Dixon and husband, Jim, of Friona, TX; fifteen grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. The family suggests that memorials be sent to the First Baptist Church of Happy Building Fund, 102 N. Western Ave., Happy, TX 79042, Happy Senior Citizens, PO Box 247, Happy, TX 79042, or BSA Hospice, PO Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176.
