Jack Bullock was born January 14, 1928 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Maurice and Myra Bullock. He married Susanne Abbott January 26, 1952 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Jack was a 1st Lt. in the US Army and disabled retired May 1954. A very accomplished man earning his bachelors and master degrees in petroleum engineering from Oklahoma University and later his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Bullock moved to Canyon August, 1956. He was a math professor at West Texas State University from the fall of 1956 to May, 1988. During his years there, he served as chairman of WTSU Faculty Council. He was faculty representative for NCAA for WT, ran concession stands for WT basketball games and faculty sponsor for varsity WT Letterman Club. He was awarded the Faculty Excellence Award from WTSU in April 1976. He was a member and served as an elder at both First Presbyterian Church of Amarillo and Canyon. His greatest personal achievements were his wife and family along with his involvement with his church and the WT community. He was preceded in death by his mother, Myra Bullock Dickerson. He is survived his wife, Susanne Bullock, three children, Robert Bullock and wife, Patricia, Cindy Sharp and husband, Charles, and Cathy Tannery and husband, Wayne; grandchildren, Laura Bullock, Carter Sharp, Stephanie Sisson and Nickie Ramm; along with seven beautiful great grandchildren and first cousin, William Semmelbeck and wife, Betty.
