J. Woods

Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Dreamland Cemetery with Mr. Howard Morris officiating. J. T. "Peanut" Woods was born on May 9, 1936 in Saint Jo, Texas to George and Matilda Woods. He served in the Army P.F.C. from 1955 to 1957. He moved to Canyon in 1963 and retired from the Texas Department of Transportation Highway Department in 1992, after 31 years of service. He enjoyed his hobby of raising cockateel birds and had some awesome discussions with the few that talked. J. T. was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Louise Woods, his parents, Matilda Margret Woods and George William Woods, and three sisters, Gracie Estelle Woods, Flora Ann Langston, and Marian Lea Wesley. Survivors include his daughter, Jeania Kaye Noggler and husband, Tom, of Canyon; his son, Joe Timothy Woods and wife, Michelle, of Orange Park, FL; five brothers, Wiliam Alton Woods, of Holiday, J. C. Woods, of Saint Jo, Winton Alfred Woods and Clinton Langford Woods, both of Nocona, and Eddie Stanley Woods, of Euless; two sisters, Edith Margetta Downs, of Kamay and Sarah Jasper Pitman, of Bowie; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
