Hoyt Lovelace, 82, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas. Services will be held at Brooks Funeral Home in Canyon, Texas, on July 17, 2021 at 2:00PM. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Hoyt was born on March 11, 1939 in Vernon, Texas, to Weaver and Marie Lovelace, who preceded him in death. His wife of 51 years, Lin Lemons Lovelace, also preceded him in death. Hoyt is survived by daughter Krista Lovelace, daughter Courtney Lovelace with grandson Anthony Carroll, and son Rex Lovelace with wife Stefani and granddaughters Alexis and Jordyn. He is also survived by his brother Beryle Lovelace and wife Elouise along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Hoyt graduated from Knox City High School and took multiple degrees from Tarleton State University. After a full career in education and coaching, he retired from Windham Independent School as Principal.

Hoyt found enjoyment in hobbies such as crosswords, old westerns, listening to music and watching sports. He dearly loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Hoyt and Lin shared many years traveling in their RV throughout the United States, acquiring many wonderful friends along the way.

Hoyt gave his all to his wife, children, grandchildren, friends, and to many, many students and athletes throughout his years.
