Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 27, 2008 at the Bible Baptist Temple in Amarillo with Greg Waggoner, pastor, officiating. There will be viewing at Bible Baptist Temple at 1:00 P.M., on Monday, prior to the service, as well as on Sunday at the funeral home from 11:00 to 6:00 P.M. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Vega, Texas. Horace Tolbert "Pick" Pickens was born on August 5, 1927 in Woodville, Oklahoma to Perry Jesse and Cecelia Strickland Pickens. He was a retired iron worker and crane operator and loved fishing at Lake Texoma. He was a member of Bible Baptist Temple in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Fincher Pickens. The family would like to thank the staff at Odyssey Hospice for their love and care. Survivors include four children, Jerry Don Pickens, of Amarillo, Trisha Anderson, of Fritch, Gary Allen Pickens, of Amarillo, and Larry Wayne Pickens, of Amarillo; ten grandchildren, Amy Pickens, Andy Loveless, Shelia Loveless, Shane Loveless, Bryan Loveless, Greg Pickens, Mike Pickens, Alisha Harris, Jerod Pickens, and Justin Pickens; and ten great grandchildren, Kiersten, Kelby, Kolten, Kenley, Christian, Hannah, Tyler, Tori, Devon, and Darren. The family suggests memorials be made to Odyssey Hospice, 6900 I-40 W., Suite 1500, Amarillo, Texas 79106.
