Homer Harvey

Homer F. Harvey, 88, of Canyon passed away on August 31, 2018.  Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Brooks Chapel with Andy Blair officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 2, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors. Homer was born on October 8, 1929 in Randall County, TX to Lewis and Carrie Harvey. He graduated from Hereford High School and continued his education, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Tech University. Homer married Eloise Bowden in Leadville, CO on June 7, 1953.  He was a 4-year veteran of the US Air Force attaining the rank of Staff Sargent. For 30 years, he was employed with General Motors as a representative. He was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church. Homer was an ardent supporter of the WTAMU Lady Buffs Volleyball Team and leaves a legacy of love and support for these special young athletes. Homer was preceded in death by his wife, and brother Harold Harvey. Survivors include two nieces, Cindy Harvey Brown of Arizona and Becky Kruger of Missouri; and special friend, Glenna Canada.
