Services will be at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 19, 2016 in Brooks Chapel with Rev. Steve Olsen, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Amarillo. Hellen C. Peeples was born on July 29, 1920 in Wellington to Shannon and Edna Brooks Clement. She attended Samnorwood High School, graduating in 1938. She married Ray Peeples in Grapevine on May 17, 1939. She lived in Wellington most of her life. She and Ray moved to Canyon due to his health in 1985. He preceded her in death in 1987. She was known as "GaGa" to her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Hellen was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, two daughters, Kaye Henderson and Gayle Hamby, and a great grandson, Justin Rothman. The family would like to thank all those at the Hudson House involved in looking after Hellen and taking such good care of her. They did an outstanding job. Survivors include her son, Kent Peeples and wife, Elaine, of Canyon; six grandchildren, D'Ray Peeples, of Amarillo, D'Layne Carter and husband, Mike, of Amarillo, Bret and Shane Gray, of Stillwater, OK, Tawney Lewis, of Amarillo, and Markaye Rothman, of Austin; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to your favorite charity.
