Gracie Tirey

Gracie Lee Tirey was born on November 2, 1918 in Happy, Texas to William and Florence Stratton White. She married Frank Tirey in Happy on February 11, 1940. They owned and operated Tirey Hardware. He preceded her in death in 1997. She was a lifetime resident of Happy and a member of the First Baptist Church of Happy. She was also a member of Happy Senior Citizens and Eastern Star. She was an avid quilter and loved to crochet. She was also preceded in death by one son, George Tirey, in 1991, two brothers, George White and Everett White, and two sisters, Alice Penn and Lena Belle Cabe. Survivors include her son, Bill Tirey, of Canyon; two daughters, Judy Shipman, and husband, Gene, of Happy, and Jeanne Johnson, and husband, Ronnie, of Happy; daughter-in-law, Sara Tirey , of Happy; nine grandchildren, Raphe Shipman, of Rockwall, TX, Mandi Altheide, of Ft. Worth, TX, Jay W. Johnson, of Lubbock, Roxie Ralston, of Gruver, Jim Tirey, of Plainview, Laura Bow, of Happy, Jennifer Spivey, of Magnolia, Jason Tirey, of St. Louis, MO, and Preston Tirey, of Canyon; and twelve great grandchildren.
