Gloria Nadine Roberson McNutt, 88, passed from her earthly home March 16, 2025. Memorial services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Pastors Ryan and Sarina Nelson officiating.
Gloria was born October 13, 1936, in Temple, Oklahoma to Wilburn and Lillian Roberson. Her family moved to Edmonson, Texas during her childhood years. She met Farris Eldon McNutt while in high school and they got married June 6, 1953, in Clovis, NM. They were married for 68 years. Together they lived in Plainview, TX, Bethany, OK, Hereford, TX, Amarillo, TX, Seminole, TX and Ruidoso, NM.
Gloria was loving, godly, compassionate, encouraging, and generous to all she came in contact with. She was the mother of one daughter and three sons. She had several career opportunities in her life including a teacher's aide and bank teller. Family was always a priority in her life; she traveled to watch every event she could, spent time playing games, and she offered words, and many prayers, of support and encouragement. There was nothing better than hearing her laugh when she whooped you in a game. Gloria served the church of the Nazarene in many capacities from volunteer work to serving food at Bonita Park Campground. She and Eldon loved to travel and spent many years traveling in their RV, taking family with them whenever possible. She especially enjoyed watching all the wildlife around the dream retirement home they built together in the mountains of Ruidoso, NM.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn and Lillian Roberson, husband, Farris Eldon McNutt, two brothers, Melvin and Donnie Roberson, and two sisters, Joretta Wyatt and Florine Carter.
Survivors include one sister, Claudetta and husband, Leonard Sanman of Weatherford, TX; one daughter, Donna and Marty Nelson of Amarillo, TX; three sons, Harold and Karen McNutt of Hereford, TX, Larry and Kathy McNutt of Eufaula, OK, and Garlan and Shelly McNutt of Capitan, NM; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all.
Gloria was welcomed into Heaven and heard the words she longed to hear:
"WELL DONE, GOOD and FAITHFUL SERVANT."
