Glenn Williams

December 31, 1969 — November 8, 2008

Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 13 at Brooks Chapel with Dr. David L. Lowrie, Jr., pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Glenn Williams was born October 18, 1920 to Blackie and Alice Holt Williams in Marlow, Oklahoma. On August 12, 1949, he married Travis Chapman in Amarillo. Glenn received his Bachelor"s Degree from West Texas State College, and then went on to continue his studies at Sam Houston State, where he received his Master"s Degree in Agriculture. Glenn loved school and he was teacher for 40 years at numerous Texas Panhandle schools. He served in the US Army as a Tech 4th Grade and was stationed in Italy and Africa. Glenn had been a resident of this community since 1965. He was preceded in death by his wife and a daughter, Jan Nadine Williams. Survivors include four sons, Ernest Williams, of Stinnett, David Williams, of Happy, Drew Williams, of Blanco, Lane Williams, of Pleasanton; a daughter, Becky Williams, of Amarillo; a sister, Opal Cartrite, of Sunray; a brother, Herburt Williams, of Lubbock; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer"s Association, 2200 W. 7th, Amarillo, TX 79106.
