Glenda Abernethy

Memorial services will be at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, June 16 at Brooks Chapel with Nancy Biffle, officiating. Graveside services will be at 5:00 P.M. Thursday, June 16 at Kelton Cemetery. Glenda was born June 25, 1947, in Wheeler to H.D. "Teed" and Helen Whiteley Pond. She graduated from Kelton High School in 1965. Glenda was a longtime resident of Canyon and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was an avid Texas Rangers fan. She had a great sense of humor and loved unconditionally. Her kids, grandkids and family were her world. She was preceded in death by her beloved twin sister, Linda Jaggard; a brother, Gary Keith Pond; her parents; and a son-in-law, Bart Thetford. Survivors include her daughter, Karla Abernethy-Thetford of Amarillo; son, Kyle Abernethy and wife, Heather Morrison of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Jared Beatty of Seattle, WA, Jayden Beatty of Austin, Allisha White and husband, Max of Canyon, Kassandra Thetford of Dallas, Brady Thetford of Canyon; two great grandchildren, Henry and Oliver; two sisters, Brenda Knoll of Amarillo, Sharon Tillman of Canyon; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be made to your favorite charity.
