Geraldine Cherry Rogge, 88, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Odessa.
Geraldine was born January 9, 1933 in Snyder, Texas to Carroll and Irene Prince Cherry. At the age of 16, she graduated from Lamesa High School as the class valedictorian. While in high school she was a member of the journalist club and enjoyed working in the school library.
Geraldine married Robert Lee Rogge on January 9, 1955. He preceded her in death on April 6, 1983.
She worked for Phillips Petroleum, was the secretary at Risen Lord Lutheran Church, and then finally she was an accounting clerk at Compressor Systems before her retirement.
She was a member of Risen Lord Lutheran Church.
Geraldine loved crossword puzzles, needlepoint, reading, and bowling. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor.
Survivors include her two daughters, Kathi Gilbreath and husband Gaylord of Corsicana, and Karla Hatcher and husband Chris of Amarillo; grandchildren, Kara and Garrett Gilbreath of Spring, Mallory Hatcher King of Amarillo, and Leah Hatcher of Austin; great grandchildren, Corbyn Gilbreath, Kendra Gilbreath, and Lily Gilbreath all of Spring; brother, Joe Cherry of Monahans; and a sister, Harriett Conner of Longview.
