George Ithaca

Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Dreamland Cemetery with Rev. Gene Jones, associate pastor of First Baptist Church of Canyon, officiating. George T. Ithaca, Jr. was born on July 8, 1929 in Borger, Texas to George T. and Minnie Pearson Ithaca, Sr. He was a graduate of Borger High School and married Wanda Joy Buntin in 1950. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corp and worked for Southwestern Public Service in Texas and New Mexico for 37 years. George was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canyon and the Isom Masonic Lodge in Borger. He loved fishing with his grandkids and was fondly known as Grandpa to his many "honorary" grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Wanda, of Canyon; his son, Jerry Ithaca and wife, Janice, of Canyon; two grandsons, Tony and Jared Ithaca, and one granddaughter, Miranda Ithaca, all of Canyon; and one sister, LaVerne Coiner, of Borger.
