George Fulkerson

George Lee Fulkerson, 71, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019. Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 8, 2019 at East Mound Cemetery in Matador. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Canyon Country Church in Canyon with Pastor Jeff Cates, officiating. George was born on February 21, 1947 to Lloyd and Lillie Witcher Fulkerson in Matador, Texas. On September 8, 1967, he married Sandra Culpepper in Odessa. For the past 46 years, George worked at GCC as the Lead Terminal Attendant. He was very dedicated to his work and was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. He was always willing to help anyone that asked. He was also a devoted husband and father. He loved animals and had a great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Sandra; son, Monte Fulkerson; sister, Roma Jo Laird and husband Dr. James Laird; two brothers, Hubert L. Fulkerson and wife Sandra, Leonard Bruce Fulkerson and wife Maxine; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be made to Canyon Country Church, 2600 FM 3331, Canyon, TX 79015.
