Genevieve Keesee

Genevieve "Genny" Agnes Keesee, 71, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017.  A vigil will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday, October 11, at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.  Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 12, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Amarillo. Genny was born on December 15, 1945 in Amarillo to Anton and Agnes Wink Handing.  She graduated high school from Umbarger and attended St. Mary's Nursing School.  She was a Registered Nurse for 42 years. Genny was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church for more than 30 years. She was strong in her faith and was very involved in the many groups at her church. In her retirement, Genny enjoyed baking for charities, volunteering, gardening and traveling to see her grandbabies. She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers, Anthony, Jimmy, Robert, Stanley, Vernon, and Marcus.  Survivors include four children, Amy Stephens and husband Charles, Christy Keesee, Cody Keesee and wife Amanda, and Brandon Keesee; four grandchildren, Caleb, Ellen, Joseph, and Lily; two sisters, Mary Kolac and Ann Schenk; and many nieces and nephews who know her by 'Sis'.  The family suggests memorials to the Evelyn Rivers Christmas Project, 314 S.
