Services will be at 10:00 A.M on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at St. Ann's Catholic Church with Fr. Robert A. Busch, PhD., pastor, and Fr. Jim Schmitmeyer, of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Amarillo, officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday in Llano Cemetery with Fr. Jim Schmitmeyer officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Brooks Chapel. Vigil will follow at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Brooks Chapel with Deacon Gabe Rivas officiating. Gene 'Mema' Railsback was born on March 24, 1926 in Seguin, Texas to Joseph and Irene Andrele Hoff. She married Wilburn Wayne Railsback on September 4, 1945 in Seguin. They were married for 55 years before he preceded her in death on September 5, 2000. Gene was a homemaker and bookkeeper for the family business. She was a devout Catholic and loved the Lord with all her heart. Her family was the next most important thing to her. She also loved the Dallas Cowboys, fishing, gardening, and quilting. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and St. Martha's Circle. She was also a member of Oblates of St. Benedict. After she moved to Amarillo in 2013, she attended St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. Gene was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Florence Komperda and Virginia Hoff, and a nephew, Rick Hoff. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Hall and husband, David, of Amarillo, and Mickey Boggess and husband, Rusty, of San Antonio; a son, Ron Railsback and wife, Nancy, of Canyon; seven grandchildren, Shauna Ashley and husband, David, Julie Boggess, Frannie Hollan and husband, Harley, Douglas Hall and wife, Kelley, Stacy Drury and husband, Roland, Gregory Hall and wife, Melinda, and Wendy Knox and husband, Shawn; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Buddy Hoff and wife, Jane, of Abilene; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to the Sisters of St. Benedict Monastery, Inc., 17825 S. Western St., Canyon, TX 79015 or Catholic Charities of the Texas Panhandle, PO Bx 5644, Amarillo, TX 79119.
