Gene E. Glazener, 65, of Canyon, died Sunday, November 25, 2001. Memorial Services will be at 4:00 pm Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at the First Presbyterian Church of Canyon, with Dr. J. Pat Kennedy officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 pm Tuesday, at Dreamland Cemetery. Gene E. Glazener was born on May 15, 1936 at Pampa, Texas to Buel and Esther Davis Glazener. He graduated from Dalhart High School and then received his degree from WTSU in 1958. He married Eleanor Forgey at Amarillo in 1994. He was a captain in the U. S. Army. He bagan his accounting career with Brown, Graham & Company, P.C. in 1961 in Amarillo. He moved to Canyon to manage that office in 1966 and became a partner in 1967. He retired from Brown, Graham & Company, P.C. in 1997. He was a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Texas Society of CPAs, Panhandle Chapter of TSCPAs, and the Texas Cattle Feeders Association. He served on the board of the TSCPA Education Foundation, Texas Society of CPAs, Panhandle Chapter of TSCPAs, State Bar of Texas, Texas Bar Foundation, West Texas A&M University Foundation, Dreamland Cemetery, and the American Heart Association. He was a deacon in the First Presbyterian Church of Canyon and was active in farming and ranching. He had been greatly involved with The Opportunity Plan, Inc. since its inception. He had also previously been active in S.T.A.N.D., Kiwanis, and various professional committees. He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther, in 1996, and his father, Buel V. on October 31, 2001. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor, of the home; one daughter, Nancy Glazener, of Pittsburg, PA; one son, Kelly Glazener, of McLean, TX; two brothers, Larry Glazener, of Dallas, TX, and Gary Glazener, of Mesa, AZ; and four Grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Dreamland Cemetery, PO Box 38, Canyon, TX 79015; Opportunity Plan, Inc., PO Box 1035, Canyon, TX 79015; or WTAMU Foundation, PO Box 766, Canyon, TX 79016.
