Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Amarillo with The Rev. Claire Field officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Brooks Chapel. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. G. W. Frazier was born on June 11, 1945 in Corsicana, Texas to Odell S. and Gurlie Bivin Frazier. He received his Bachelor of Theatre Arts and his Masters in Comparative Literature degrees from Texas Tech University. He was an English professor at Texas Tech University, the University of Albuquerque, and Del Mar College. G. W. married Eleanor Pratt in Corpus Christi on December 17, 1995. He was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Amarillo, where he was very active teaching Total Common Ministry classes and serving as Lay Preacher. He was a devout Christian, loved to read, cook, write, and was an exceptional actor, having the lead role in numerous plays over the years. His most cherished play was in Middletown working with an emotionally challenged cast. G. W. was preceded in death by his parents and his baby sister, Lana Jean. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Frazier, of the home; his daughter, Stacie Lisbeth Frazier, of Dallas; his son, Willie Gene Frazier and wife, Andriena of Santa Barbara, CA; two granddaughters; one grandson; three great granddaughters; two sisters, Dinah and husband, Tim Lewis and Linda and husband, Tim Claytor - all of Canyon; a brother, Bill Austin Frazier, of Macon, GA; and a brother-in-law, James Pratt and wife, Jacqueline Crockett of Lincoln, NE. The family suggests memorials be to the Columbarian Fund at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 4714 NW 4th Avenue, Amarillo, TX 79106.
