Services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 11, 2003 at the First Christian Church with Rev. Debra Huffman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Richard, loving husband and father, was born on May 12, 1913 in Ellis County to Samuel and Sarah Beltz Richard. He married Elizabeth Rogers at Enid, Oklahoma in 1933. She preceded him in death on May 12, 2003. He owned and operated the Texaco gas station in Enid and then was a conductor for Santa Fe Railroad from 1941 until 1978. He moved to Canyon from Canadian in 1955. He was a member of the First Christian Church and a lifetime member of United Transportation Union. He loved his family, camping, and fishing. Survivors include three daughters, Carol Kay Daniel, of Irvine, CA, Beverly Lewis, of Collinsville, TX, and Pamela Riggins, of Carrollton, TX; two sons, Fred S. Richard and Sam A. Richard, both of Canyon; one sister, Viva Manuel, of Enid, OK, thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to the First Christian Church 2011 4th Avenue Canyon, Texas 79015; or Crown of Texas Hospice 1000 S. Jefferson Amarillo, Texas 79101.
