Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church of Canyon with Rev. Kevin Deckard, pastor of Westover Fellowship Church of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Fred McKinin was born on March 16, 1964 to the late Dorothy A. McKinin and Frederick M. McKinin of St. Louis, Michigan. On August 17, 1986 he married Deanna Burns in Canyon, Texas. They have two boys, Michael and Matthew. Fred was very passionate about his family and his cars. He loved spending time with his family and working on their many cars with his sons. Although working, restoring and racing cars were a passion of his, Fred always found time to make his family and friends laugh. His sense of humor was known to all who knew him well. After graduating college from WTA&M University, Fred sold cars for many years. Fred was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He will be dearly missed but forever in our hearts and always in our memories, bringing smiles to our faces! We love you! Your family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Deanna, of the home; two sons, Michael and Matthew McKinin, both of the home; his brother, Edmund McKinin, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; his sister, Heather Mills, of Alma, Michigan; his father, Frederick McKinin, of St. Louis, Michigan; three nephews, Grant Mills, Xander McKinin, and Andrew Wright; one niece, Kylie Wright; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dwight and Ophelia Burns; and one sister-in-law, Donna Wright.
