Fred Green

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Brooks Chapel. Carolyn Gable, with Oakdell Grace Fellowship Church, will officiate. Mr. Green was born on July 31, 1934 in Dalhart to Ruth and Louie Green. After finishing high school in Stratford, he attended West Texas State University on a dual baseball and basketball scholarship. Upon graduation in 1957, Mr. Green returned to Stratford prior to moving to Amarillo in 1960, and to Canyon in 1983. He enjoyed golf, outdoors and time with his family. Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Norvell. Survivors include Ms. Cynthia Evers, of the home; two daughters, Kirsti Atkinson and husband, Jarrett, of Amarillo, and Kimberly Fertitta and husband, Paul, of St. Augustine, FL; one son, Brian Green, of Canyon; eight grandchildren, Melissa Seale and Justin O"Brien, of Amarillo, Blaine Green, of Canyon, Brett Green, of Perryton, Connor and Sara Atkinson, of Amarillo, and Sam and Dominic Fertitta, of St. Augustine, FL; and one great grandson, Carson Seale, of Amarillo.
