Fred Finke

December 31, 1969 — January 4, 2006

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at the University Church of Christ with minister, David Lough, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Fred Finke was born on October 17, 1924 in Pottsboro, Texas to Fritz George and Hattie Kiker Finke. He graduated from Denison High School in 1943. He served as a pilot in the Navy for two years and later graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Dairy Manufacturing. Fred married Ruth Darlene Fisher on May 17, 1947 at College Station and they lived in Canyon and Amarillo for forty-five years. He was a member of the University Church of Christ and will be remembered as a loving and faithful husband and father. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Darlene, on November 21, 2005. Survivors include two sons, David L. Finke and wife, Regina, of Canyon, and Daren L. Finke, of Dallas; one sister, Dorothy Clement, of Pottsboro, TX; four grandchildren, Davidson Finke, Kira DeLeon, Casey Finke, and Elizabeth Clifton; and four great grandchildren, Jordan DeLeon, Lexi DeLeon, Asher Finke, and Averi Finke. The family suggests memorials be to the High Plains Children"s Home, PO Box 7448, Amarillo, Texas 79114.
